This semester, we are looking at district developments in ports in the master's studio and in-depth study. The example of Mannheim will be used to examine questions about living, working and producing (in ports). The Ba4 Studio focuses on the small town of Neuchâtel on the German-French border. We are also offering a seminar on "new" places of exchange in our knowledge society.

The current transformation of former port areas into new urban districts, such as the Hafencity in Hamburg, the Medienhafen in Düsseldorf or the Eastern Harbour in Amsterdam, demonstrate an urban paradigm that will be examined in more detail as part of the in-depth study.
The analysis will focus on the most important urban development challenges facing many port cities in the 21st century.

The city of Daegu is looking for innovative urban design solutions and is therefore organizing an international summer school for students.
The best results will be presented to the public at an exhibition in Korea in November. The task is to develop a future oriented residential quarter - focus will be new forms of mobility and traffic concepts as well as the avail-ability areas and accessibility of relaxation and recreation area.
