MA Studio: Open Lab

Diese Themenfelder sind beispielsweise Adaptive Re-use, New Rurbanity, Culture and Identity, Productive City), dabei ist das Ziel die individuelle räumliche Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema Stadt – ob lokal, international, gestalterisch oder strategisch – vom Stadtbaustein bis zur -region ist alles möglich. Willkommen sind experimentelle Aufgabenstellungen, die auf die Suche nach innovativen Lösungen für eine nachhaltige Stadtentwicklung gehen.

Auch können im Rahmen des Open Labs studentische Wettbewerbe bearbeitet werden (siehe z.B. AIV-Schinkel-Wettbewerb, Schlaun-Wettbewerb, Studentischer Ideenwettbewerb „Neustadt Glashütte 2040" u.a.) Die Aufgabenstellungen sowie notwendige Recherche- und analytische Vorarbeiten werden im Rahmen der Entwurfsvertiefung, die dem Entwurf vorgeschaltet ist, erarbeitet. In regelmäßigen Abständen werden die Arbeitsstände individuell und in der Gruppe diskutiert und reflektiert.

The Open Lab is a free design work conceptualized and conducted by the students. The theme of the design task can be chosen freely or be formulated within the framework topics of the chair of international urban planning and design, that are: Adaptive Re-use, New Rurbanity. Culture and Identity, Productive City. The aim of the design course is to further develop the individual spatial approach through exploring the urban sphere – whether local, international, design based or strategic – from the basic city building block to the region, everything is possible. Experimental tasks that are aiming for innovative solutions are very welcome.

Within the framework of the Open Lab students may also participate in students design competitions such as the AIV-Schinkel competition, the Schlaun competition "StadtPlatzPlus – between head and heart" or the ideas competition "Neustadt Glashütte 2040". The preparatory work of the design task as well as the necessary research and analytical work are to be developed at the beginning of the semester. The progress of the work during the semester will be discussed and reflected on regular intervals through individual and group consultations meeting.
